9 years ago today.

We were wrapping up our first overseas trip together to the Middle East and India.  It was a catalyst to so many things in those next few years.

The hard parts of this year (and my perpetual short sightedness!) often distract me from this one simple fact — We are living our dreams.

We are smack in the middle of what we have begged God to do in our lives for YEARS.  DECADES, in fact.  And I often lament because it’s hard.  And lonely.  And different than I expected.  And so very far away from my family.  Gosh, that part will always suck.BUT what a thing to look back — into our young, rested eyes — and get to say:  “He did it.  It happened!  God brought us to the other side of the world.  And he’s holding us up and teaching us so much.”

Wherever we go from here, whatever may happen in our year #2, whenever we stay or go or return or launch out again… I’m resting in this place of thankfulness today.  He is the Faithful One.

“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations…” Deuteronomy 7:9
